GENGEN'S CHRONICLE ON SW NATIONAL PARK 2010
Early this year, our good friend Bob Higaki from California told me of his plans for a two-week photo trip visiting the National Parks of the Southwestern US: including Canyonland National Park, Arches National Park, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, and Zion NP. I expressed interest to join and was accepted for the September tour (he has photographed these areas and knows the best sites and times). Gengen also expressed an interest in the trip, having heard so much about all the beautiful National Parks. An extra bonus: our first arrival in Colorado timed perfectly with the autumn peaking of the aspens. The last week took us to explore Zion NP and Bryce Canyon. We did a lot of hikes, rising early for sunrise and capturing the sunsets in the evenings.
I gave Gengen a Nikon point-and-shoot camera that she was free to use at her own discretion. This album showcases her photographs. Most of them are scenery and now I see she also documented many of my actions, unknowingly. I must congratulate Gengen for her beautiful and well composed pictures. Well done. She has great photographic vision. Keep it up.
Last and not least, thanks to Bob Higaki for his meticulous planning, the long & careful drives, and his leadership and guidance that made this trip most successful and memorable.
